Description: Free eBay listing template designed by dewiso.com Rare 1880's Jesse James Death Photo Golden Eagle Clothing Advertising Card This extremely rare postmortem portrait of Jesse James, was presumably taken on or about April 3, 1882, at the time of Jesse James murder by Robert Ford. It has the words "Presented By The Golden Eagle Clothing House 514 & 516 Main St Kansas City, Mo" around it and measures a little over 4" tall and 2 1/2" wide.When Jesse James was murdered by Robert Ford in St Joseph, local photographers came to take pictures of the famous outlaw after death, and in the case of this example, Golden Eagle Clothing took it a step further and incorporated his postmortem photograph into their advertisements. The CDV sized advertising card has some toning and some light water stains, mostly to the edges and rear and bottom right corner as well as a number in pencil on the rear. There is some minor fading to the front, but the image and wording is still crisp. A really nice looking example of an extremely rare advertising card. It will be accompanied with a receipt from its original purchase from Rex Stark Americana many years ago.
