Rare Antique 1920’s L.V Aronson Egyptian Revival Lamp. Erotic Woman. Circa 1923

Description: **Relisted due to buyers inability to pay** Fresh from a local estate sale and for your consideration is a beautifully preserved Egyptian revival lamp. When King Tuts tomb was discovered in 1922, it spiked an intense fascination and wonder about Ancient Egypt and the interest spread throughout the world. This lamp is a example of that by-gone era. Signed by the one famous Louis Aronson and dated 1923. All pieces are intact including the ORIGINAL silk shade that would drape over the metal lightbulb clamp style bracket. The silk has a tear down the center unfortunately but is all intact including the fringe border and small cast iron tassels on each corner. The silk has Egyptian motif figures and hieroglyphs. All still visible with good color. Overall measurements are 11-1/4 to top of socket. Base measures 3-1/2 x 4-1/2. Sarcophagus measures 8-1/4 x 2-1/2 at the widest point. There is not a scratch or chip anywhere on the body of the lamp. The only flaw that I can see is minor paint loss on the sarcophagus nose. It opens up to reveal a nude and somewhat shy woman. Absolutely beautiful and stunning. The original cord is still intact with no fraying. The lamp works. It has been tested by me personally and in the photos, you can see it lit up as well. The thin metal base plate has come detached from the actual lamp and still has the green felt attached. The fact that all these pieces that were originally manufactured with the lamp are still here is mind blowing to me. How easy it would have been to get lost or disposed of but yet every original piece is here and that is quite impressive.
