Description: Maker: This delightful decorative plate is by the legendary French faience company Sarreguemines, which has been producing beautiful ceramics since 1790. Its long and colorful history ended in 2007 when the company was forced into liquidation. On the reverse is the "Opaque de Sarreguemines" back stamp that was in use from 1875 to 1900. Source: Porcelain Marks and More website. Design: The pattern features a bold pink flower and green leaves against a vivid blue backdrop. A band of stylized pink buds surrounds the center. On the back is the pattern number R780. Size: The plate is 9 1/2 inches wide and weighs 1 pound. Condition: It's in excellent condition for its age with no marks, chips, nicks, cracks, stains, repairs or significant wear. There are several tiny scratches - possibly utensil marks - and crazing on both sides as is typical in this type of china; it's more prominent on the back and can be seen in the photos. Please check all the photos very carefully - they are an important part of the description.
