Description: A rare sterling silver and leather travelling inkwell. It is hallmarked with the French 950 Minera head standard mark along with a makers mark. I would date it to c1860. It has a superbly designed having a sterling silver top and leather box which pops open when the front of the box is pushed. It still retains its original glass well. It is in superb condition being free from dings splits chips cracks and repairs. It measures approx. 1.75 inches (4.3cm) square by 1.5 inches (3.8cm) tall and weighs 74 grams.
