Rare Game used Detroit Red Wings? early 1950s Ice hockey socks Red/White stripe

Description: ***NEAT VINTAGE GAME USED HOCKEY UNIFORM SOCKS!***I HAVE NO HISTORY OF THESE SOCKS OTHER THAN THEY CAME FROM THE DETROIT AREA, BUT DID SOME RESEARCH AS TO WHAT I THINK THEY MAY BE*****Neat rare hockey socks from the glory days of hockey! The stirrup socks are just like the early 1950s Red Wings "wide stripe" variation. I looked at many pics of the uniforms back from 1950 thru 1960, and this style was mainly used in 1951-1953, after that they used a Red sock with a thinner White stripe and no white piece at the bottom. There are also "crossover" pics with players wearing both styles. These early 1950s "Wide White" stripes were also located very low on the leg, just above the ankle basically (you can see a great pic of a player from 1953 who is wearing one of each style socks! (see B & W pic), the sock on the left as you look at the pic is the Wide White, with the White at the bottom part, and situated low on the leg, the sock on the right is thinner stripe and no White fabric at the bottom, and situated a little higher above the ankle. The color team pic also shows both styles of socks, as Ted Lindsay (sitting next to Terry Sawchuk in the front row) has a wider stripe and white fabric at his ankle area, and Sid Abel, Gordie How, Red Kelly, and the rest of the players in the front row have the narrower stripe. These socks came out of the Detroit area, probably made by Lippmans/Tool Shop/Olympic Sporting Goods, as they were the equipment supplier back then. Definitely adult size, measure just about 30" long. No markings on the socks except what looks like the remnants of some blue printing at the bottom of one sock. (I took a pic, but it's hard to see). Good vintage used condition, marks, several holes from use, other wear, wow if these could talk I'm sure they'd tell a great story! Display great! They feel like a heavy cotton/wool material, but not positive. These are just like the type the Red Wings wore back then, unfortunately I have no history or photo matches.
