Description: This antique German bisque boy doll by Theodore Recknagel is a rarer find for collectors. With wavy blonde hair, blue glass sleep eyes, and a light complexion, this 14-inch doll is made of composition, wood, and bisque materials. The trunk is composition with a wide seat area. The head is bisque, the arms and legs are wood. The feet and hands are intact and not broken. The mouth is open and has four teeth. The head and body are in very good shape for the age, although the hair definitely needs some attention. It has become matted over time. He does come with a very cute little sailor suit that has true gold bullion braid across the top of the dickie shirt.
