Description: I got this out of a very large estate I believe it was a Hammerman’s collection ? I re-handled it to the best of my abilities having done thousands of hammers. All of the hammers I got out of that the state were highly polished. It looks like there may have been a slight superficial weld fill in on the side, look closely at pictures. Beautiful piece I think these were used for pegging the soles on boots prior to assembly and stitching. But I am no expert, but I was a former Harnessmaker. This is what I was led to believe. I also have a boot pegging tool on another listing. Handle is Hickory with a dark stain. You may choose to apply a final finish. Great addition to any vintage hammer, collector, leatherworking, cobbler, or bootmaker collection.
