ROK coffee machines with pressure gauges are rare and coveted. ROK offered the upgrade to USA buyers for a short time but then discontinued the offering. The copper finish is rare as well, this is the only machine I have seen of its kind throughout all my coffee-nerd internet explorations. Manual coffee machines like the ROK are extremely low maintenance, durable and portable! There are no mechanical pumps or boilers to service or replace. They take up very little counter space and make good quality espresso. I have found this machine quite forgiving as well -- while I struggled for months to get good coffee out of my Gaggia Classic, even my very first shot on the ROK was a good one! I pre-load the baskets so my second shot ready to drink seconds after the first one. Additionally I have fitted a food grade silicone bib onto the piston, which covers the brew chamber -- this makes preheating easier and more efficient. This was my own innovation and I hope ROK notices and incorporates it into their model upgrades. Please note that the original ROK portafilter included in this listing has a crack in the plastic handle where it accepts the metal tang. This has been an issue for many ROK users which is why I bought a very sturdy bottomless portafilter and custom ground it to fit this machine (included in this lot).
