Description: This is an original period US Army-issued camel bell. These bells were used during the little known CAMEL CORP experiment, when 71 Egyptian camels were purchased to patrol the deserts of the SOUTHWEST and haul supplies between Texas and California. The brass bell is in excellent shape with an original dark patina from age. The base has a diameter of 4 3/4" it is 4. 1/2" tall. Looks as though the top has been repaired at some point.
