Description: Knife is in good preowned condition- see pics. Blade retains most of its mirrored finish. Knife is sturdy and very sharp. Knife ships with USPS Ground Advantage. U.S. sales only. This is a Western Field Fixed Blade Hunting Knife with the original leather sheath. This was a contract knife made by Western for Montgomery Ward. According to information that was found, it was made between 1931-1960s. The pommel is a double pinned pommel and this indicates that it was made by Western Cutlery, Boulder, Colo. It is approx 8 1/2 " overall with a 4 1/2" blade. It is stamped "Western Field Made in USA " on the tang. This patent # was applied for in 1931 and was the first patent for a through handle full tang. The knife handle is stacked leather. It has wear with the metal along top & bottom of the handle having patina on it (see photos). The aluminum double pinned pommel and the guard have scratches and dings (see photos). The blade has wear with scratches and discoloration (see photos). The blade is tight. The knife has the original tooled daisy logo sheath with it. It is in used condition with some wear and scratches. The stitching and rivets are good and the snap works fine.
