Description: RARE~Vintage~Lester Breininger~Redware Pottery sgraffito Design~Duck~Easter~Egg. Approximately measures ~ 2 1/4” tall x 1 3/4” w x 3/4” deep Description: A nice size redware egg made by Lester Breininger. The glazed egg is beautifully decorated with a sgraffito design showing a Duck in grass. The egg is light tan in color on top with the bottom being brown in color. The bottom of the egg has a flattened base and is brown in color. The egg is signed "LB 90" for Lester Breininger 1990 on the flat surface where it sits. This is a very nice redware egg with a beautiful design and colors. The egg is entirely glazed and looks great. Pennsylvania • Maker: Lester Breininger Marks: The egg is marked on the bottom with the inscription "LB 90" in black under-glaze. • Distinguishing Characteristics - Most Interesting About The Piece: This is a nice piece made in the studios of Lester breininger the master potter from Robesonia Pennsvivania. It represented a great example of the master potter's work and would make a areat addition to vour collection. Note that Mr. Breininger died in December 2011 and as such his pottery has become very desirable and sought-after. A nice and well-made piece worthy of a spot in your collection of contemporary redware • condition: he egg is in excellent condition. It has no cracks. no repairs. no chips. and no hairlines.
