Description: RC Rosenthal Cup & Saucer Demitasse Else Mold 1938-1952 Traudel Floral w/Gold Exquisite Decorative ROSENTHAL Demitasse CUP & SAUCER, Hand Painted MULTICOLOR FLORAL w/GOLD, Pattern FLORIDA TRAUDEL from Selb, Bavaria, Germany, Circa 1938-1952 DESCRIPTION: This simple but elegant pattern has sprays of pink, blue & yellow blooms with green leaves. The rims are smooth and painted gold as are the foot and handle of the cup and the line around the well of the saucer. It is on the Else mold that was introduced in 1913. This real beauty was designed by a very talented artist in the Rosenthal studio! CONDITION: The condition of this Rosenthal demitasse cup & saucer set is superb. We can find no defects or damage. There is no gold or color wear. There are no chips, nicks, cracks, rubbings or hairlines. Please refer to the photos to see how classically beautiful this is. DIMENSIONS: The demitasse cup has a diameter of 3" while the height is 1 3/4" with a capacity of 3 ounces. The saucer has a diameter of 4 3/8" while the height is 5/8". HISTORY/MARKS: In 1879 in Upper Franconia, Bavaria at Erkersreuth Castle, Phillip Rosenthal (1855-1937) founded a porcelain decorating studio using blanks supplied by Zeidler. His business grew to the point that in 1891 he built his first factory to produce porcelain using kaolin imported from Bohemia. The current Rosenthal website states from 1907 the company marks each product with its full name, thus the brand name of Rosenthal is born in 1907. In his book entitled Rosenthal, Dieter Struss dates this mark as used in the 1938-1952 time period. Please view all pictures carefully as they are part of the description.
