Description: This listing is for a fossilized tapir canine tooth, found in North Florida. This is a nice curved canine tooth from the extinct tapir species Tapirus veroensis. Its range during the Pleistocene epoch covered what is now the eastern and southern United States. Tapirus veroensis is thought to have gone extinct around 11,000 years ago. This is a great specimen tooth with a root that is fully intact. Tooth is in its original condition, as found, with no restoration or touch up and measures 2" long.
