Description: Handmade Lampwork glass beads are made one at a time by heating a cane or rod of glass over a flame torch and then applying the molten glass around a mandrel. The bead is held over the flame while it is worked on and cooled slowly to strengthen the glass. It takes a lot of skill to keep the bead from losing its shape and the adding of other colors in swirls or flowers demands much concentration. This is a high gloss large bead with dark red background There are blue lines and squiggles on one side and random two-tone blue dots on the other. Hole for stringing is through the length.
