This rug design incorporates traditional design elements associated with the Navajo rug weavers of the town of Chinle, Arizona located at the mouth of Canyon de Chelly National Monument. The Chinle pattern is the most common of all the rug designs and incorporates many elements of numerous rug designs from the surrounding areas. This pattern, adapted to use as cross stitch and needlepoint, can be used as a whole design or components of its design elements. It can be used to create wall hangings, pillows, runners and even rugs. The pattern is 144 x 160 stitches, using 14 count White (you may use a red Aida cloth and eliminate filling in the background stitches) Aida Cloth the design size is 10.5 x 11.5 inches. But you must add at least 3 inches around design size when purchasing cloth. The pattern also features a color photo to help aid in recreating the design and includes DMC Floss color key.
