Description: RED RHODOCHROSITE with GALENA, FLUORITE - 2.5 cm - WUTONG MINE, CHINA 27226 RED RHODOCHROSITE with GALENA, FLUORITE - 2.5 cm - WUTONG MINE, CHINA This specimen comes from the 2008 find that was available at the Tucson shows that year. There was every grade of material available; from pale pink chips to deep red faceting grade. Complete crystals were very scarce and very expensive. Most of the material offered were cleavages like this one. The specimen we offer is a very good rhombohedral cleavage of the red rhodochrosite. In color it is a translucent medium red. This specimen has overgrowth of purple fluorite, bright pyrite crystals and inclusions of galena. A small separate rhomb of rhodochrosite grew attached near the bottom. The specimen will be shipped mounted on a clear acrylic display square. Non permanent mounting allows it to be easily removed.
