Description: Rembrandt Impressed Etching.This important bitten line impressed etching is entitled, "Beggars at the Door" or "Beggars receiving alms at the door of a house".The image is signed in the plate at lower right corner, and dated 1648.The impression is very deep and noticeable around the image.The viewable image measures 6 1/4 x 8 1/4 inches.The custom matte is grey in color with black lines, and measures 12 1/4 x 14 1/4 inches.Condition: Paper of etching is very yellowed from age, with some foxing/ a dark spot seen on reverse that is not seen on front. In pencil on lower edge reverse: "Rembrandt" Beggars at the Door (Bitten Line), also typed on a piece of paper taped to the matte on reverse. The paper is lightly taped with acid free tape at the top onto the matte on the reverse(You buy "as is", refer to photos available for inspection, prior to bidding/purchase.). The grey matte has wear and tear at edges, with one crumpled corner at lower right.
