This protective layer is meant to keep contaminants from degrading and bonding with your vehicle's finish.Traditional waxes are often contain a natural carnauba base--derived from plant solids. Due to its organic nature, carnauba tends to degrade quickly in comparison to synthetic polymers (such as those used in Supreme Sealant Final Finish Sealer). These polymers also tend to be more abrasion-resistant. Sealants are also known to be more hydrophobic in comparison to conventional waxes due to their higher surface tension. When comparing waxes and sealants, results will be similar, although with slight differences.
