Description: Republic of China Medal Order President Yuan Shikai brass 1914 Museum Replica reproduction COPY Made from pure Brass Top Quality and top Rare! Weight: 27g Diameter: ca.39.88 mm / 1.570 inches History of the original Medal The series of copper medals or token coins featuring Yuan Shikai includes a 1914 brass medal with an image of Yuan Shikai in military uniform, with crossed swords and a double-ear grain on the reverse. The medal has a diameter of 39 mm. The obverse features a large portrait of Yuan Shikai, with a design similar to the Republican commemorative coins and the Hongxian commemorative silver coins with a flying dragon on the reverse, minted by the Tianjin Mint. The exact purpose of this medal remains unclear as there is no definitive historical record to verify it. One popular theory suggests that Yuan Shikai specially minted this medal to reward those who contributed to his election as the President of the Republic of China in 1913. While there are very few silver versions of this medal in existence, the brass version is previously unseen, with only this one example discovered to date. The medal is finely crafted and made of high-quality brass. They are all in excellent condition and would make a fantastic addition to any collection.
