RICH & FAMOUS PLAY CAST - SHOW BILL SIGNED CO-SIGNED BY: ANITA GILLETTE, RON LEIBMAN, WILLIAM ATHERTON - HFSID 312726 RICH AND FAMOUS PLAY CAST: ANITA GILLETTE, RON LEIBMAN, WILLIAM ATHERTON Playbill for a New York Shakespeare Festival production, signed on the title page. These three actors were the play's entire cast. Show Bill signed: "Anita Gillette", "Ron Leibman", "William Atherton", 4 pages, 5x9. Playbill for a production of Rich and Famous, a play by John Guare, at the New York Shakespeare Festival (1976), signed on the title page. Primarily a stage actress early in her career, ANITA GILLETTE (b. Anita Luebben in 1936) made her Broadway debut in Gypsy (1959). She was nominated for a Tony for Brighton Beach Memoir, and won a Theatre World Award for Russell Peterson's Sketchbook. Like many stage actors, she had continuing roles in daytime soaps, including Edge of Night and Search for Tomorrow. A regular on game shows like What's My Line and Match Game, she was a frequent guest of Johnny Carson. Transitioning to character roles by the 1980s, she has played the mother of quite a few film stars, including Jennifer Aniston, Jack Black, Bill Murray, Mary Louise Parker and John Goodman. In the new millennium, she has had recurring roles in the TV series Normal, Ohio and The War at Home. Stage, screen and television actor RON LEIBMAN (1937-2019), who made his Broadway debut in 1963, won an Obie Award for Transfers and a New York Drama Desk Award for We Bombed in New Haven (he would return to Broadway in 1993, winning a Tony Award for Angels in America). After appearing in several made-for-TV movies and feature films, including Slaughterhouse Five (1972) and The Super Cops (1973), Leibman created, co-wrote and starred in the short-lived TV series, Kaz (1978-1979). His other film credits include Norma Rae (1979), Zorro, the Gay Blade (1981), Phar Lap (1984) and Rhinestone (1985), and Leibman has also appeared in recurring roles on Friends (as Rachel's father, Dr. Leonard Green, 1996, 2001, 2004) and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (2001). He has also made guest appearances on several other TV series. Leibman, who was married to actress Linda Lavin from 1969-1981, has been married to actress Jessica Walter since 1983. WILLIAM ATHERTON (b. 1947) was already an experienced regional stage actor when he entered films in the early 1970s. He has often played unsympathetic characters impressed with their own importance, like the fraternity hazer in Class of 44, the misguided EPA bureaucrat in Ghostbusters, and the sleazy reported in Die Hard. Recent starring roles include The Girl Next Door (2007) and Towards Darkness (2008). Corners slightly worn. Top left corner creased. Otherwise, fine condition.
