Description: Travel back in time with this vintage fiddle, circa 1930s. It was built by an obscure Ohio luthier named Ray James Cooper (1890-1981). He had serious skills. With a 14-1/8" body and 23-3/8" overall length, it is a 4/4 full-size instrument. The back and sides have a funky cloudy finish. Struce top. Bejewelled tailpiece. Pegs and peg holes are in good round. Old strings. Sound post is standing. The top is discolored around the bridge. The bridge is well-fit to the top. Cosmetically, it looks worn but still quite good. There are minimal scuffs and scrapes. "R.C" is carved on the back of the headstock. There is also an inside label that say, "Ray Cooper" on it. It comes with an L. Wenzel bow. The bow needs to be rehaired. It comes with a hard case. The latches and hinges work, but the handle is missing. Who wants to take a chance with this interesting American instrument? Questions? It will be well packed with plenty of new 1/2" bubble wrap and shipped in a new 32"x19"x7" stout cardboard instrument box.
