The pattern was patented in 1878 right around when the hotel opened. The hotel was only open for about a decade but in 1881 it was the world's largest hotel. PATTERN: Derby MATERIAL: Silverplate PIECE NAME: Dinner Fork LENGTH: 7 1/2" MONOGRAM: "Rockaway Beach" CONDITION: No dings, dents, plate loss, etc. Surprisingly little wear for 19th century hotel silver, but the hotel was only open for about a decade.
