Description: For sale is a very rare original Rolex Datejust black gilt tropical dial. For reference 6605. Circa. 1950’s. The dial is 100% original with obvious wear, age and patina. Some print where Datejust written has faded. The pictures were taken under a loupe to see closely at the dial. Please refer to the pictures as they are the description for this listing. The gilt lettering is in amazing copper color and the dial shows a lot potential if installed in a 18K gold Rolex Datejust 6605 case. These reference 6605 dials are almost impossible to find original. Black gilt dial examples for 18K watches are a needle in a hay stack in any condition. This dial will add a lot of value on the watch. Good luck! The movement is a high grade Chopard cal. 90, 30 jewel gilt colored automatic movement with mini rotor. There is no stem or crown. The balance moves freely when the movement is moved. Should run fine with it’s original stem winding it. The movement measures 28.48mm in diameter. The dial measures 30.04mm in diameter.
