Description: DESCRIPTION: Wonderful Rome, Italy, Trinita dei Monti church (see NOTE below) on fine vntage porcelain has an interesting story. The Franconia Krautheim K & A plate was made in Franconia, in Selb Germany/Bavaria from 1945 to 1950 before it became West Germany. This old stock of high quality porcelain was not printed until the mid 1970s. The thick artwork is high quality printed rather cheap transfer or lithographing. It includes the Late Renaissance church in the middle with sky, florals, steps and paved areas. The border has heavy drip gold with yellow roses. The colors are still bright and pop. See the photos. MARKINGS: Green stamp in the back with Crown and “Franconia, K & A, Krautheim, Selb, Bavaria, Germany” that was used from about 1945 up to about 1950. See the photos. AGE: The porcelain was manufactured from 1945 to 1950. The plate was printed circa 1975. ORIGIN: Printed in Italy on old German stock. DIMENSIONS: Approx. 10.5” Diameter X 1” Tall.
