RON COOPER Hand Built Reynolds 531 Frame Set

Description: Vintage Ron Cooper Frameset with fork. All Reynolds 531 double butted tubing, forks & stays. Hand built by master frame builder Ron Cooper in Dartford, UK. A good number of Ron's frames were imported into the USA in the 1970's, including this one. The frame is in very good structural condition, and rides straight and true, with no dings or dents. The finish is, unfortunately, a bit less than pristine! Lots of well earned patina, with bits of spot rust, scratches, scrapes and clear coat yellowing. If you're looking for a museum piece "as is," this probably isn't your ride, but if you want a frame that is either ready for a deep refinish, or something that shows her battle scars and is still ready to ride, this is a frame with lots of potential! Ron's frames were most noted for their great stiffness and power transfer in a sprint or climbing, and this one won't disappoint;-) 55 cm c-c seat tube x 55 cm c-c top tube. BSA threaded 1" fork & 68mm bottom bracket. takes a 27.2 mm seat post. Includes a generic BSA headset. I'm putting it up to see if there's anyone who wants this "as is," with original paint and patina, and if she doesn't sell in a few months, I'll put her in the queue for a restoration project with new paint & decals next year...
