The leaves are dark red to bronze on the tips, with a dark green base. Commonly used as a baby leaf variety, but also forms a fantastic full-sized head. It has a sweet buttery texture, and it grows quickly. The baby leaves are ready in 28 days and takes about 60 days to produce mature leaves. Sowing: Lettuce grows well in cool weather, so the first crop can be direct sown when the soil temperature reaches at least 35 degrees F, or as soon as the soil can be worked. If the soil temperature rises above 75 degrees F, the seeds become dormant.
