Description: FYI - "zipsdm" are watermarks to protect the photo from digital piracy and not printed onto the actual photograph. John Ellis and son Clifford took photographs between 1945-1975; primarily of the scenery and peoples of the state of Washington. This would be one of their earlier photographs of tribal leaders representing the Klikitat, Palus, Wallawalla, Wanapam, Wenatchi, Wishram and Yakama peoples. Condition is good but has some blemishes which I circled in one of the pictures - the two upper most spots blend in fairly well to look like a background blur but these spots have some damage from likely sticking to something in a scrapbook (where these were adhered too). There is also a darker spot which is more noticeable but thankfully not much of a distraction from the overall aesthetics of the photo. Standard postcard size (5-1/4" x 3-1/2"). This is also one of the rarer RPPC from the Ellis series. I can find no other existing examples of this photograph.
