Description: This is a nicely detailed early 1900’s real photo postcard identifying a “Fancy Groceries” storefront with three people standing in front of the corner street doorway (most likely the store owners and a clerk). The signage in the windows is wonderful and although there is no exact location named, there are some clues……….First of all, this postcard came from a large Minnesota collection I acquired awhile back. The sandwich style board standing on the sidewalk advertises Ives Ice Cream which was made in Minneapolis. Also, Regan’s bread was also a local business — a bakery based in Minneapolis. (A twelve card series of Victorian Trade cards lists Regan’s Bread at 5th Street, 7th Avenue and 6th Street). Also, if you look carefully on the roll up canopy over the store front, you can see the street address is 500…..We just don’t know what street…..I have zoomed in on some of the signage, so you can see some of the great, iconic general store vendor packaging of the day back then. Never mailed, this AZO stamp box back (triangles up, all four up) is in very good condition. Buy with Confidence.
