Description: WHITE MOVEMENT , CIVIL War in Russia ( Museum Copy ) Award Medal “ Medal to the Drozdovites.” on original award ribbon . The first batch of medals was produced in the city of Kharkov in the summer of 1919. Due to the continuous battles in which Drozdov’s units participated, a very limited number of medals were issued. When the retreat began in the autumn of 1919, the supply of medals and equipment for their production were in the base of the Drozdovskaya artillery brigade. In February 1920, the boss was captured by a gang of local Bolsheviks near the village of Orlovka Kubanskaya. The officers and soldiers who guarded the convoy were brutally tortured, and the property was looted. Most of the awarded Drozdovites received their medals in exile. The medals were ordered in Yugoslavia and then in Paris, so the medals differ from the originals in minor details.
