Raymond Poincare (1860-1934) was the Prime Minister of France five times in his political career and was President of France from 1913 until 1920. Having been a child during the era of the Franco-Prussian War in 1870 and having seen the suffering caused by the German victory and harsh surrender terms imposed on France, he was staunchly anti- German through his entire life.
