Easy to follow instructions are included. All the logs are hand peeled to create a nice western look and the table in this listing comes fully finished with a stain and 3 coats of clear lacquer for a nice, smooth, protective finish. This table is built to comfortably fit 6 dining chairs ( two on each side and one on each end) although you could fit three chairs along the side if you want to go all the way out to the ends. Also works well with a 6 ft log bench on each side and then a chair on the ends. We choose to work with lodgepole pine as it grows naturally in the forests of NW Montana and is known for its superior strength to weight ratio. It is also straighter, thus making it easier to work the raw wood into the highest quality furniture possible. Our lodge pole pine is harvested in the Kootenai National Forest via a very selective process. Skilled woodsmen select each tree with an attentive eye toward the quality, straightness and size of each specimen. After felling, each piece is hand carried to the road to ensure both the tree and the environment remain unharmed. Then each log is hand peeled, using the skip-peel method where some of the inner bark is left on the logs, creating a beautiful rustic piece of furniture for your home, lodge or cabin.
