Description: Savinelli’s Punto Oro series is reserved for some of their highest-grade, traditionally shaped pipes. They use only the highest-quality briar. Only 1.2% of the thousands of briar blocks processed per year achieve a Punto Oro grade. This is a beautiful pipe! The stem is free of teeth marks, and the sandblast is sublime. The previous owner modified the bowl to change it from a brandy shape to a pot shape. Be sure to check all of them out and ask questions before buying. Heritage Pipe Shop specializes in "pipes with a past." Every pipe has lived a unique life and has a story to tell. The wear a pipe has gained in its life is a patina, a story, its own personal history. Therefore, we do not try to return it to "like new" condition. When you buy a pipe from us, you can expect a "refreshed" pipe: The pipe has been thoroughly cleaned and sanitized, ready to smoke out of the box. The bowl has been reamed, but we leave enough cake so that you do not need to break it in again. Stems have been cleaned and sanitized, and vulcanite stems have been de-oxidized and polished. Stems may have some teeth marks. When needed, stems are replaced (this will be noted in the description). Any repairs made will be noted in the description and/or title. The bowl has been cleaned of previous smoking ("ghosting") using the time-tested salt and alcohol method. Briar pipes have the char removed from the rim (as possible), and the outside of the pipe has been cleaned, treated with a restoration balm, and buffed with carnauba wax.
