Description: ***** Well, THE MAGIC GADGET SITE wants to THANK all our customers who have supported TMGS for over 15 years!! And if you are new to TMGS, you can learn more about any of our items and our fast, friendly service by visiting THE MAGIC GADGET SITE eBay store. Share the magic! ****** COLLECTION LIQUIDATION -- I am helping a magic friend sell most of his collection, (and I already had a ton of magic I was trying to get listed!) so I am putting his Collection items in this separate eBay store category, and I will probably not be saying too much about the items. I will give a few good photos, and I will give a quick assessment of the item. If you know your magic, you will recognize many items and know they are a great deal here. Or if you don't know the item, you may have to do a bit of online research to find out about it. Or you can just trust my honest (though quick) assessment of any item -- I always endeavor to tell you the good and the bad of anything I sell.Message me if you are seriously considering buying something , and want a bit more info on it. Happy to help. And keep checking the "COLLECTION LIQUIDATION" category of my ebay store, as I will be adding more items all the time!I first learned Jack Kent Tillar's "Blister" effect from reading Tarbell. (It's in vol. #7 if you want to look it up...) Like many great effects (and most of Tillar's great effects), the premise is simple and the method is bold. In Tillar's original conception of the effect, it was a demonstration of mind-over-matter -- the magi withstands the pain of burning a blister into his fingertip. But card magicians always need new and different revelations of chosen cards, and so in 2002, Brent Walske adapted Tillar's effect to create blisters in the shape of card values and suit pips! Walske's gimmick was limited in the number of card values you could "blister", and also the gimmick needed to be handled out of sight. Seth Race has come up with an interesting alternative, which allows for any card value, and also is incorporated into an "everyday" object -- the ubiquitous Sharpie. (Although the Sharpie can't be examined, it will not attract any notice when you handle it, and has apparently nothing to do with the final effect.) The effect: You have a card selected, signed with a Sharpie, and lose it back into the deck. You put away the Sharpie and come out with a lighter (which could also be borrowed from a spectator if available), and you pinch the flame between your thumb and forefinger. The visible grimace in your face betrays the excruciating pain you feel :-) But it is well worth it, as you reveal the burn blisters on your fingertips reveal the chosen card -- one blister for value and one for suit. As was also a bit problematic with the earlier Walske gimmick, this new version sometimes does not make a very strong blister impression, but with practice and pressure, you will definitely get clear suit and value on your finger tips. This one sells for $30, but you can get it here for less!CONDITION NOTES: previously owned, but in like new condition. apparently unused with all original props and code for online instruction video. Apologies to International bidders, but the US Postal service has raised rates on January 27th this year, particularly for International shipments. Our shipping charges have been adjusted to reflect this. We are still committed to keeping shipping costs as low as possible, and will always combine multiple ebay wins into a single shipment to save you postage costs!)
