Description: Scarce vintage student magazine from the University of Colorado. The "flatiron" was a humor magazine created by students and sold on campus. It began in about 1949 but became notorious in 1954. The magazine was banned on campus for publishing pin-up photos and having sex related articles. Life Magazine did a story on the controversy that year! This issue is from March of that year, 1954, and has a pin-up photo on the cover. The magazine eventually returned in 1955, but has long since been out of print. Other than the focus on pin-ups, the magazine contained satirical and humorous content of interest to college students. Even the classified section was joke material. There were lots and lots of cartoons included. This copy is in very good condition. It is clean and unmarked throughout. No stains, no tears or folds. Very minor shelf wear to covers from storage. Ships with USPS media mail.
