Description: This is a unique and beautiful German handmade ceramic vase with two-handles (Henkelvase) by Scheurich KG Keramikfabrik, and I believe that it was created in the 1980s. It is marked on the bottom with “W. Germany” and the number “615-20.” The 615 refers to the model number of the vase. The 20 refers to the size (20 cm). The vase also has the three circle makers mark in the center which the Scheurich company was using in the 1980s. (See below for more information on the Scheurich company.) Refer to the photographs for the colors of this gorgeous vase, (which I believe are true to the colors on the vase—but we know that monitors may display colors differently). The speckled and dripped medium gloss glaze on the exterior of the vase is a combination of creams, browns, and rusty hues in a drip/flow pattern. The interior of the vase is high gloss speckled dark brown. Excellent condition! I carefully examined this vase and found no cracks, chips, or crazing. The vase is vintage, and as such, has been used. Any white spots that may look like chips are simply light reflections or speckles of cream colored glaze. The vase measures 7.75 inches high, 19.25 inches around the fattest part of the vase, and 6 inches across the widest part of the vase. All of my items are from a smoke and pet free home. I examine my vintage items carefully and do my best to highlight any wear in my description and photographs. Please contact me if you have any questions prior to purchase. I ship by USPS. Scheurich KG Keramikfabrik. In 1927, Alois Scheurich and Fridolin Greulich established “Scheurich and Greulich” (S&G), a wholesale business distributing glass and porcelain. The success of S&G allowed Alois Scheurich to establish his own ceramics factory in Kleinheubach in 1954. Scheurich used white clay for its products. The clay color is normally visible on the bottom edge of the vase. The vases are usually signed with ‘W. GERMANY’ or ‘WEST GERMANY’ followed by 3 digits -indicating the model number- a dash and 2 numbers which indicate the height of the vase. In 1990, “WEST GERMANY” changed to ‘Made in Germany’. Scheurich is still in business today.
