Description: Here’s an eye-catching majestic Bald Eagle with wings and feet spread wide surrounded by gold stars on a gilded edge porcelain plate. This is Schumann porcelain made in Arzberg, Bavaria, Germany and imported to the US by Ebeling and Reuss (E&R) of Pennsylvania. The plate measures 7-1/2” in diameter and ¾” tall sides with gold edging. Based on the style of the bottom stamps this was crafted in Germany sometime around 1960. The condition is very good with no chips, cracks or crazing. There are two short light scratches not easy to find. The metallic gold edging on the rim is in great condition with no wear. There are two backstamps. One is of the porcelain maker with crown and lion logo in green “Bavaria Schumann Arzberg Germany”. This was in use from 1960 to 1970. The other mark is the importer’s blue logo of crown in shield “Golden Crown E&R 1886”. This mark was registered in 1956 and was used until 1960. There’s also a stamped number “20”.
