Description: This is an old framed print of these Scottish and Cairn Terrier dogs. The original illustration of these dogs is by G. Vernon Stokes circa the early 1900's. We are not sure of the age of this piece but it is most likely from the first half of the 1900's. The image appears to be mounted to the wood backing and then a foil embossed oval frame with domed bubble is placed over the image. The bubble may be early plastic, not glass. It measures about 4.25 x 3.25 inches. This image features Scotty the Scottish Terrier and Cairn the Cairn Terrier. It was an estate find. George Vernon Stokes (1873–1954) Painter in oil, watercolor and pastel, notably of animal subjects, printmaker and illustrator. Born in London, he was educated privately. He drew for children’s books, country magazines and illustrated books on dogs. He devised his own method of printing in color.
