Description: Auction is for 1 each new in package Amphenol 3 pin and 4 pin male "donut" XLR connectors as used on the back panels of Vox AC100 amps (see second photo). Both are new in package but the packaging on the 3 pin may not be original since it is heat sealed in plain plastic without an Amphenol logo unlike the 4 pin. The original packaging on the 4 pin shows some discoloration where the metal staple has rusted over time.On vintage Vox AC100 heads, the 3 pin was used to connect to the speaker cabinet and the 4 pin for the mains. Original 4-pin Amphenol connectors on AC100 heads usually have a red circle on the frame which replacements such as this one do not have.Restore your AC100 head to original specs if these connectors are missing!YouTube has videos on how to properly solder the 3-pin XLR style connector to speaker wire. For the Vox XLR, the single #3 pin usually on the bottom is considered positive (+) and the 2 upper #1 and #2 parallel pins are negative (-) and bridged or tied together. Last photo shows how the XLR male connectors are wired in Vox Thomas amp heads. Unlike microphone cables, no shielding is used on the Vox 3-pin connectors. First class postage in the continental US is included in the auction price.
