Description: Set Limoges 8 Fish Plates & Sauce Boat D&C Signed Gold Scalloped 9” Cobalt. Set of 8 scalloped, gilt edged fish plates. Each fish is unique though there appear to be two of each type of fish. Set also includes a sauce boat and tray for the boat. Stamped back mark “D&C FRANCE, Limoges.” Signed “R. Delinieres & Cie.” The deep cobalt blue combined with the gold is stunning. Some of the gilt is worn from the edges of the plates. but not in a displeasing way. A light gray-blue color shows through in the worn spots. Please see photos including the photo where the gilt-wear is circled in red. The sauce boat handle and its tray have the most visible wear. Please see the photo of the thumb rest on top of the handle that shows about 2/3 of the gold is worn off there. There is also gold paint missing from places on the handle. See photos. Note: Stands are not included. The set is in very good condition for an antique. No detected cracks, chips or crazing. These will be an elegant and conversation-starting addition to your best meals. When not being used for a meal, they should be displayed as the works of art they are.
