Description: SHELLY WINTERS- Personalized and Double-Signed 8 x 10 Glossy. Shelley Winters signed the photo twice during an interview in January 2005. She was talking about her experiences with the Actors Studio for a TV Show. Since the Publicity photo was done for a film called "A DOUBLE LIFE, filmed by Universal Pictures in 1947, Shelley Winters signed her name twice. One of the signatures was quickly personalized on the front (with a black-sharpie) and another small-one in pencil, on the back (at the bottom)----of the photo. She didn't like giving autographs. She made a big joke about it, saying I deserved a "double-dose." Shelly thought she looked like a "strumpet," which was "perfect" for her role of a down-and-out waitress, who gets murdered by Ronald Colman. "I get strangled--and Colman gets the Oscar." Ronald Colman played the deranged actor who killed her. He won the Academy Award for Best Actor in 1948. The photo, which is in GOOD CONDITION, will be protected in a bubble-wrapped envelope and shipped via USPS First Class Mail. Shelley Winters, eventually got two Oscars of her own. After years of acting in obscure roles, she was cast in second-leads who often met a terrible end. She excelled as a tarnished glamour-girl with a working-class vulgarity. But her role as a frumpy factory-girl, who's abandoned and drowned by Montgomery Clift in "A Place In the Sun" got Shelley an Oscar nomination and a newfound respect for her talents. In 1959----she won an Academy Award as Best Supporting Actress for "The Diary of Anne Frank." Her other film credits include: The Night of the Hunter, Lolita, The Chapman Report, and A Patch of Blue, ---which awarded her a Second Oscar for Best Supporting Actress in 1965. She earned another Oscar nomination for "The Poseidon Adventure" in 1972. She received acclaim on Broadway in 1970, for her role as the mother of the Marx Brothers in "Minnie's Boys." Along the way, she wrote two books and was a frequent guest on countless talk shows throughout the 1970s and 1980s. In the 90s, she also played Roseanne Barr's grandmother in Barr's self-named TV show. She died in 2006, leaving behind an incredible career that lasted over six decades.
