Frame is 24" x 20" Approximate. Eric Stry (German-American, 1901-1975) was known for his oil paintings of landscapes, seascapes, harbor scenes and still lifes. Eric’s given first name and surname were Erich Strueh, and he was born February 19, 1901 in Germany. He immigrated to the United States in 1923, arriving in Boston, MA, with his artist wife Kaethe “Kay” Irene (née Augenstein) Strueh (Hungarian-American, 1899/1904-1963). Naturalization and census records show she was born December 24, 1904 (though her grave states 1899). Upon entering the United States, their last name was changed to Stry and they petitioned for naturalization in 1939.
