This copy is from the uncommon Ace Books 1987 hardcover reprinting. The book is signed by Heinlein on the first page, with no personalized inscription. The signature is genuine but shaky; Heinlein suffered a series of small strokes late in life; he passed away the year following this edition's publication. The book is in very good shape overall. The jacket shows general handling, including a couple tiny nicks at the edges; there is also a scuff on the front panel from the removal of a price tag. The book itself is in great shape, possibly never read. The value, of course, is in the rare late Heinlein signature. This author did not autograph many of his works, and signed copies of Starship Troopers are extremely rare; at present there is one signed copy for sale online, a first edition listing for $25,000.
