Description: SIX PLAYS BY HENRIK IBSEN, “Newly translated, and with an Introduction, by Eva Le Gallienne.” Vintage Modern Library hardcover with dust jacket. Published by Random House, Inc. 510 pages. I’m unsure about the publication date, but the latest copyright date is 1957, and, according to a Modern Library Collectors’ web site, this version of the dust jacket was in print from 1957 to 1960, so the book was issued sometime during that period. This hardcover book is in Good condition with a square, (semi-)tight spine and clean, unmarked pages. The light gray cloth-covered boards show just minor wear and bumping at the spine ends. There are no loose, torn, or missing pages, and no writing, marking, or underlining anywhere in the book. PLEASE NOTE: Notable flaws include (1) a partially-cracked — but NOT broken — front hinge (roughly 2 to 3” in length between the front end-page and the title page); (2) a long (5”) tear in the paste-down end-paper at the left edge of the inside rear cover (which has been sealed with a piece of clear tape); and (3) TINY diagonal creases at the top corners of pages 389 through 425. The price-clipped dust jacket is in Good-to-Very-Good condition with minor wear and chipping at the spine ends and at the ends of the the dust-jacket creases, along with surface wear to the front and rear panels, and minor creasing at the bottom edge of the front jacket panel. Small pieces of clear tape have been applied to the INSIDE of the jacket to reinforce the spine ends and the ends of the jacket creases. There is NO tape on the outside of the jacket. The dust jacket is now covered in Mylar to prevent further damage. (All photos except the last one were taken without the mylar.) Please see the pictures for details.
