Description: Here is a nice Hand Carved Small Antique Style Preening Avocet Shorebird Decoy carved by my myself (Sam McKamie). It is carved with pocket knife and rasp from cedar after I did the initial sawing and drilling. This beach bird is of two piece construction of cedar with a hardwood bill, tack eyes, and relief carved wings as shown in the pictures. This beach bird is painted in a gunning style like those decoys of old. Stand is included. This bird measures 7 1/8 inches long from the tip of the breast to tip of the tail, 9 1/2 inches tall, and from 1 1/2 inch stock. It will make a fine addition to any collection.
