Description: This is a phenomenal oversized antique print from the 1890s. It depicts a Diamondback Rattlesnake venomous pitviper about to attack a frog from its hidden perch in a tree. The print has wonderful hues and tones. It is a chromolith from a high quality Ernest Nister children's book published in Nuremburg Germany. There is no copyright date, but the style of the reproduction is consistent with other 1890s Nister books I have. An inscription puts it at 1892 or earlier. I consider this series some of the finest chromoliths I have come across. The page is in excellent condition.There is text on the back, but the paper is so thick and heavy it doesn't show through.
