The Pacific Northwest contains two solomon’s seal relatives, Maianthenum racemosum and Maiathenum stellatum. Rhizomes are dug in the autumn once all nutrients and energy are transported below ground in preparation for the coming winter. The rhizomes are cleaned and made into an alcohol tincture to preserve the active constituents.
