Description: Soup Tureen With Lid & Serving Spoon: Deruta Of Italy "Alabaster Giardino" 1993 This listing is for one (1) soup tureen set that includes a large pot bellied soup container with two handles, one matching lid, and one matching serving spoon. This beautiful example of ceramic was made by Deruta of Italy in 1993 per the handwritten signature on the bottom of the soup container. The hand painted pattern is called Alabaster Giardino which is Italian for Alabaster Garden. The soup container has green leaves randomly around the sides and a geometric pattern around the top resembling a garden trellis. This trellis pattern is repeated in the handles, around the lid, and along the handle of the serving spoon. These details are hand painted in a calming green color which works beautifully against the Alabaster white background. The result is a stunning piece that is still neutral enough to work well with just about any occasion. The spoon has spots where the glaze is missing; these are manufacturing marks from when the freshly glazed piece was set to cure/dry. I don't see any other condition issues to report on either of the other two pieces.
