Description: You are bidding on a pair of postcards of yesteryear with bucolic southern scenes: One of the postcards depicts two African-American females horseback riding together (side saddle) on a country lane with a clapboard church in the background. The two females are checking out the photographer! Postmarked in Orange, Virginia and dated June 1, 1912. Mailed to a Newport News, VA address. Very nice overall condition with light corner bumps. Heavy postmark feels like embossing. The other postcard depicts a line of horse drawn wagons containing cotton waiting for the cargo to be processed at a cotton gin. Wagon drivers appear to be African-American. Postmarked in Harrisonburg/Mt. Clinton Rural Station, Virginia and dated 19 October 1912. Mailed to the same Newport News, VA address. Very nice overall condition with light corner bumps, wear along the top left edge, and a small pencil scribble mark in the top left corner. Buyer pays $1.75 for carefully packed USPS shipping. U.S. buyers only. Serious bidders only. Shipping only in U.S. Payment expected within 5 days. Thanks for bidding!
