The factory batteries that were inside of the bottom right corner of the box have exploded and left a residue. The package was opened and we threw out the batteries. Box corner was cleaned to our best ability. The battery condition inside of the clock compartment is unknown, as the clock is in the original condition and is still attached to a cardboard box.
