Description: A Stanley Gage No 5 Plane, later designated the G5. This is the first edition of this plane. The rear of the plane is simply marked "No 5" and cast into the base before the rear handle is "Pat appld for", making this a type 1, made between 1919-1923. The cutter has good length left, the handles are solid with no visible repairs or significant damage. The plane has been lightly cleaned only. The cutter has most of its length left.
